Story:
Ban Pang Daeng Village, a Sgaw Karen village, is located about 45 kilometers north east of Chiang Mai in Doi Saket district of Chiang Mai province. Sgaw Karen men are skilled in making traditional musical instruments made of wood such as, Karen Drum, Harp, Guitar and variety of baskets.
There are 10 Karen men in this village who are skilled in making both traditional and modified basketries and regularly delivering their baskets to Thai Tribal Crafts. Soft bamboo that they can find locally are used to make these basketries at each individual home while they are not working in the field.
